The Paula Red Apple is an apple flushed with two colors. Part of it is a light green hue and the other a dark red. The skin looks like a fusion of the vibrancy of summer and the heartiness of autumn. The colors blend together marvelously to create a striking gradient.
Unfortunately, the flavor does not live up to its striking appearance. A sharp punch happens occasionally in an eater’s series of bites into the flesh of the Paula Red Apple. It has a bland flavor profile to it for the most part, with these punctuated bursts of tang happening too intermittently. It doesn’t taste of much of anything.
It says nothing with its flavor and being. There is no character or strong defining quality to this apple, asides from its look which many other apples have. I can’t think of anything that would make me pick up the Paula Red Apple again, except for it being the only apple available. Other apples have something really going for it, but the Paula Red Apple just dully exists. It is forgettable compared to all the other wonderful apples out there.
