The East Shore Sweet and Tangy Mustard came in a very tiny jar. I assume one can buy larger jars of this stuff, though, this is what I had of it and that’s what I am reviewing. Really should have put something out there for scale for the pictures. To try to give a proper sense of size: it came in a jar about the size of those EOS-lip balm things. I know that’s pretty oddly specific, but that’s what immediately came to mind!
Opening this petite jar up, you see a rich orangey-brown substance that looks like honey mustard. It has that body to it. No bits of mustard seed or the like. It is a loose sludge that can be scooped out with a knife and spread onto whatever.
In my case, well, I put it onto carrots, both raw and roasted. See, I like mustard and I really like carrots, so this combination is a simple guilty pleasure. I ate it throughout Christmas Day. The entire jar was gone by the night, not that that’s saying much.
But it is saying that the East Shore Sweet and Tangy Mustard is delicious. This mustard is like the child of a honey mustard and a Dijon mustard. It starts off sweet, so you think, this is just like a honey mustard. Then the sharp tang rises up and stops you in your tracks. Not literally: I kept eating it because the mixture was perfect. It’s a middle ground between honey and dijon. A delicious compromise. So if you’re not sure what you want at that particular moment from a mustard, the East Shore Sweet and Tangy Mustard mustard is here to help. I totally recommend it.
