This is my first vegan bacon product and my first from Hooray Foods. This vegan bacon product is soy free and gluten free. I was interested to see how this vegan bacon would turn out. As a kid, I really liked bacon. I was intrigued to see how the texture and taste would come across and how it would cook.

Sizzling in the pan
We cooked it in a pan, but it can be cooked in an oven or microwave too. It really bubbled and sizzled as we cooked it. It got a bit crispy, but not super crispy. It definitely darkened and browned.
It looked promising. Then we tasted it… Interestingly, it tastes nothing like bacon. But it’s not bad at all. It tastes like fried bread—like roti or something. It’s good. But it needs to be as crispy as possible and ideally warm. It’s definitely not bacon-like, but it was enjoyable. I guess I would recommend it, but I’d be more likely to try another vegan bacon product to see if they can match the bacon flavor better than have this again. But Hooray Foods’ vegan bacon was enjoyable.
