The Ali Shan is a prestigious tea, or rather, high end. It comes from high places. Literally. It is a high mountain oolong. A prized one. So it’s a bit pricey, but is it worth it? Does its lofty origins actually create a superb flavor?
Maybe. It has a floral flavor—sort of like a Jasmine. The floral flavor is accompanied by this sweet-ish nutty flavor. You think it’d be delicate but it’s a pretty defined, powerful tea overall. Brew it too long and it gets bitter. Needs to be carefully handled, steeping wise.
And overall I do recommend it, I think. I’m not sure if I’d drink it on a regular basis, but it’s definitely worth having once or twice or on special occasions.
