This Cave Aged Tomme de Nena was smooth and vaguely nutty. There was an earthy, sort of Gruyere-esque aspect to it in the back notes. The flavor profile was not strong by any means; it was casual and creamy. Not a powerful cheese by any means, but it was tasty for its simplicity and solidness.
Good with mild fruit and jams to bring out its natural creaminess. Pears worked pretty well with highlighting the character of this cave aged cheese.
The Cave Aged Tomme de Nena is not my favorite cheese ever, but it was more than decent. Enjoyable, but not stunning. A cheese I would go to again as a safe option, but not something I would revel in.
