I’ve had Gindo’s ‘special’ Christmas sauces, but now…now I have had their award winning original hot sauce! Fresh and Spicy it says.

I can’t really speak to freshness, but it’s spicy and very good. It’s a really simple, straight forward hot sauce in a nice tall bottle. It exists in the same space as Mule Sauce for me. Extremely versatile and tasty. This hot sauce is elevated through its light and simple nature into the realm of ‘basically ketchup’. Spicy ketchup, but ketchup in the sense you can put it on anything.

Anything that is…well, anything. I think I tried it with pasta, soup, avocado, tofu tenders, and chips. There’s more possibilities out there for it for sure. It adds a kick but doesn’t overwhelm so it pairs easily.

So, anyway, I recommend this hot sauce. I could see Gindo’s Original Fresh & Spicy becoming a condiment staple for my household. It’s not flashy or super quirky, but it’s a great standard hot sauce. I don’t have an official award to give, but I’d want to buy it again. That means a lot!

Though, I’ll probably be trying their other hot sauces more than ordering this one directly as I’m subscribed to their hot sauce of the month club for the foreseeable future. Expect more of their hot sauces in the future!
