The Golden Flower Tea comes as these tightly woven ovalish green ‘balls’. There are flecks of copper ‘golden’ hues to them.
It smells a bit floral…floral, but thicker and heavier for lack of a better term. The floral smell is accompanied by a somewhat floral taste. In addition to having a floral taste, it is also a little bit nutty. First few steeps are pretty strong and then it smooths over. It definitely has a heavier body to it in general, which is to be expected with oolong teas. I prefer it weaker than stronger as it’s a little overpowering at first.
In general, I would say that the Golden Flower tea is neither too strong nor heavy a tea, but it can definitely feel like that at first. Because of that, I’m always a bit wary making a cup of it, but then it’s fine. Once you get over the initial strong hump, it’s pleasant. I would somewhat recommend it for those seeking a floral/nutty oolong tea.
