This is my first foray into the vegan egg world. I have long seen the Just Egg bottle looming on grocery shelves and now I have finally decided to try it out. I just needed to know what it was like. I’m not fully vegan and probably won’t ever be as I love eggs. But…maybe the vegan way was better for some reason, like cheese.
Nutritionally it seemed fine. But…how was it…actually cooked? It is to be used like scrambled eggs so…we plopped it into a pan and cooked it like so.
It…took awhile but then it got scrambled egg-y. It looked the part. Taste wise…it really didn’t taste like much or like egg. It needs seasoning or sauce to go with it. Texturally it passes pretty well as scrambled eggs. If we needed a fully vegan breakfast, this would definitely do for scrambled eggs, but it’s definitely not replacing real eggs for me. I would recommend people try it if you’ve been wondering what it’s like, though.
