The SnapDragon apple is a richly red fruit. It’s really, really red. I mean, that’s clear, I hope, from the pictures of it.
Texture, something not clear from pictures is this: the SnapDragon is firm and stable. I could determine that just by touch.
I thought, upon picking it up, the SnapDragon is an apt name because this apple is going to make a snapping noise when I bite into it. My thoughts were not wrong at all. The SnapDragon’s flesh and skin together create a delightful crispness. Perhaps a bit too on the firm side, making it somewhat difficult to casually bite into. Definitely crunchy.
As for the flavor, you know, why people generally eat things, the SnapDragon apple is basically a superior Fuji. It has that tropical sweetness that is of the Fuji’s domain. Its got that punch to it and has the sheer crunch to back it up to its fullest extent. If SnapDragons were more widely available, I’d get them instead of Fujis for sure. They have the same flavor profile, but the SnapDragon just does it better. The texture was consistently crisper too, which is a plus.
You can kind of guess what I’m going to say about whether I recommend it or not. But the confirmation: I do! If you’re looking for an apple in the same vein as the Fuji, go for the SnapDragon if it’s available. It’s a scrumptious apple with quite a snap to it.
Hahahahaha. No.
