The Sonata Apple is actually the Pinata Apple/Pinova apple. Just another name for it…and I have already reviewed the Pinata apple. Like the Kanzi/Nicoter apple, this apple has a variety of given names and branding associated with it. Which are not always well known… But I know now, thanks to Orange Pippin as usual.

Regardless, the ones I had were not as flavorful, probably due to age. They were mid-grain and semi-sweet. But nice. That’s apples: every experience can vary—even with the same variety!

Still, kinda sad the Sonata apple is not a completely new variety for me, but I’ll eat ’em anyway.
