I picked up the Sonoma Gourmet Heirloom Tomato Pizza Sauce along with Miyoko’s cashew milk mozzarella to make pizza. Shocking, I know, given that this sauce advertises its purpose exactly as that. It’s filled with tomatoes and other goodness that one associates with pizza. It smells really nice.
And goodness it is on pizza. We spread it as the initial layer of our pizzas and it worked very well in giving the pizza some hearty body without being too empowering. It wasn’t too acidic either, which I much appreciated. So, with that, I would recommend it as an easy way to get a rich tomatoey base for pizza.
